Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Put has named eight players from the Uganda Premier League in the squad for the team’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches and upcoming international friendlies.
The locally based selections are David Lukwago and Hannington Ssebwalunyo, along with Jonathan Odongo, Geofrey Lubanga Kene, Hillary Mukundane, Herbert Achai, Richard Basangwa and Frank Sebufu.
Uganda will begin its upcoming engagements away to Tunisia in Rades on 24 September 2026 before hosting Libya at Hoima City Stadium five days later. The match against Libya will be Uganda’s first international fixture at the stadium, which is among the facilities for the 2027 AFCON tournament in East Africa.
The Cranes will then face the Democratic Republic of Congo in two international friendlies in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The matches are scheduled for 2 and 5 October 2026.
