Paul Put Confident Uganda Can Deliver in Busy International Window

Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Put says his team is prepared for a demanding September-October international window featuring two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and two friendly matches.

Uganda will face Tunisia and Libya in the qualifiers before meeting the Democratic Republic of Congo in two friendlies. Put expressed confidence in the players selected, highlighting their current form, fitness and commitment.

The Belgian coach also explained the absence of several established players. Jordan Obita and Elio Capradossi are unavailable because of injuries, while Put wished both players a quick recovery.

Captain Khalid Aucho, Salim Jamal, Uche Ikpeazu, John Paul Dembe, Rogers Bobosi Byaruhanga and Jude Ssemugabi are also missing from the squad.

Put said some of the absent players are without clubs or have recently completed transfers and therefore lack sufficient playing time. Others have returned from lengthy injuries but have yet to recover full match fitness after receiving limited minutes in recent games.

He stressed that the door remains open for all of them to return to the national team.
